A group of 50 Jagiellonian University students is spearheading a community effort to transform a forgettable, grassy lot in the Zabłocie neighborhood into an attractive pocket park with benches, flowers, and even butterflies.

Their widespread social media campaign behind the hashtag #naroguDekerta has raised the profile of the project and generated widespread signs of support including a personal appeal from the President of Krakow.

The effort is culminating in a fundraising campaign on the crowdsourcing platform Polak Potrafi (A Pole Can) with a goal of securing 20,000 PLN to cover the basic costs of the pocket park. If the funding target is reached, the park would be built by the end of July 2017.

The fundraising campaign is a one-time opportunity to realize this small but important project of positive change. Only a few days remain to reach the fundraising goal. You can learn more and contribute at www.kampania.narogudekerta.pl
