In the budget for this year, 300,000 PLN was put aside for projects from the first edition of the ‘Citizens’ Budget’. ZIKiT just announced an auction for the supply and installation of LED screens, which will inform Krakow citizens and tourists about the current concentrations of pollutants in the air, reports LoveKrakow.
Three boards will be placed at the Kino Kijów (in place of the current bulletin board), near the intersection of Starowislna and Dietla streets (on the opposite side of the tram lines 1 and 52) and at the Mogilskie roundabout.
The estimated launch of these displays is October or November, because of the complicated procedure of obtaining a decision allowing them to be mounted – informed Michael Pyclik, spokesman for the Management of Municipal Infrastructure and Transport. The deadline is 15 November this year.
For the displays to be mounted, the main Town Planning Office must give permission, MPWiK. ZIKiT (concerning connections to the power grid) and the Municipal Conservation Officer. The latter pointed out that care should be taken to ensure the displays and the lighting was not very intense and could be adapted to the time of day. Information on pollution is to reach the boards via Wi-Fi.
